ScoreShare Privacy Policy

ScoreShare is made by Machtelinckx Consultancy CommV. This policy explains what information the app handles, why it is used and what choices you have.

1. Game information on your device

When you use ScoreShare, you may add:

  • Team and player names
  • Scores, goals, cards and game timing
  • Game schedules, settings and notification preferences

Your complete game history is stored locally on your iPhone or iPad. ScoreShare does not automatically back up or sync this local database to a ScoreShare account. Apple may include local app data in an Apple-managed device or iCloud backup, depending on your settings.

2. Anonymous app identity

ScoreShare does not ask you to create an account with a name, password or email address. The app does create an anonymous Firebase user identifier so that cloud features such as live game sharing and subscriptions can work. A related user record may contain that identifier, app version, authentication dates and onboarding status.

3. Live game sharing

A game is uploaded to Google Firebase only when you enable live sharing. The shared record can contain team names, colours, the score, game state and timing, goal or card events and any player names you entered for those events. It also contains technical identifiers and timestamps needed to publish and update the game.

ScoreShare creates an unlisted sharing link. Anyone who receives or forwards that link may be able to open the live game in ScoreShare, the App Clip or a browser. Shared games are not intended to be indexed by search engines, but you should still treat the link as access to the information it contains.

Turning off live sharing disables access to the live game. Cloud records and backups may be retained for a limited period for security, reliability and legal purposes. To request deletion of cloud data that cannot be removed in the app, contact me using the details below and include the sharing link or game identifier where possible.

4. Notifications and Live Activities

ScoreShare can schedule local game reminders and, when you allow notifications or use Live Activities, can register Apple Push Notification service, Firebase Cloud Messaging and Live Activity tokens. These technical tokens are used only to deliver the requested game updates and are not shown to other users.

5. Analytics and reliability

ScoreShare uses Mixpanel and Firebase Analytics to understand feature use, Firebase Crashlytics to diagnose crashes and severe errors, and a limited TikTok event integration in the production app to measure selected actions such as onboarding completion, viewing a paywall, starting or completing a purchase, starting a game and enabling or sharing a live game.

This information can include:

  • A persistent analytics identifier and the anonymous Firebase user identifier
  • App, device and operating-system information
  • Feature interactions, screens, counts, game states and subscription state
  • Crash diagnostics and technical error details
  • Technical game identifiers and access attempts
  • Approximate location, such as your country or region
  • For some app actions, user-entered team or player names included in the app's event data

Analytics are used to operate and improve ScoreShare and to understand whether product and marketing flows work. They are not sold. Mixpanel is configured to use its European endpoint. Avoid entering real player names if you do not want those names handled as described in this policy.

Mixpanel may derive an approximate location, such as your country or region, from your internet connection to help me understand where ScoreShare is used. ScoreShare does not collect precise location for analytics.

6. Subscriptions and purchases

Purchases are processed by Apple and subscription access is managed with RevenueCat. ScoreShare does not receive your card or bank details. Apple and RevenueCat may process App Store transaction and receipt information, subscription status, an anonymous app user identifier, technical device information and attribution identifiers. ScoreShare also passes its Firebase Analytics and Mixpanel identifiers to RevenueCat to connect purchase status with product analytics.

7. Support and contact forms

If you use the ScoreShare support form, Netlify processes, stores and forwards the name, email address, subject and message you submit. You can email me directly instead. The website privacy notice explains this in more detail and links to Netlify's privacy policy.

Support information is used to reply, investigate the issue and provide support. Please do not include player names or other personal information unless it is necessary.

8. Retention and deletion

  • Local data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall ScoreShare.
  • Shared game access ends when the game is disabled; limited backups may remain temporarily.
  • Analytics and diagnostics are kept only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes above.
  • Apple and RevenueCat retain purchase records as needed for purchases, fraud prevention and legal obligations.
  • Support messages are kept only as long as needed to handle the request and related obligations.

9. Children

ScoreShare is intended for parents, coaches and other scorekeepers, not specifically for children. Player names are optional. If you enter information about a child, make sure you are entitled to do so and use only what is necessary.

10. Legal bases and your rights

Machtelinckx Consultancy CommV is the data controller for personal data processed through ScoreShare. Depending on the situation, processing is necessary to provide a feature or subscription, follows a permission or request you make, supports legitimate interests in operating and improving the app, or is required by law.

Under the GDPR, you may have the right to:

  • Request access, correction or deletion
  • Request restriction or portability where applicable
  • Object to certain processing or withdraw consent where applicable
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

Local game data cannot be accessed remotely by me. For cloud, analytics or purchase data, I may need a sharing link or technical identifier to locate the relevant record.

11. International transfers and security

Service providers may process information outside your country. Where required, transfers are protected by recognised legal safeguards. Information sent to service providers uses encrypted connections, but no system can guarantee absolute security.

12. Changes and contact

This policy may change as ScoreShare, its providers or legal requirements change. The date above shows the latest revision.
